Emma Jean Fraley Boggs, “Jean”, 82, formally from Gallipolis, Ohio, left this earth peacefully in her sleep, going to be with her Lord on Monday, June 4, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer Disease. As a young child, Jean demonstrated her compassion and skills in caring for sick and wounded animals and nursing them back to health. She pursued this God-given gift graduating from Holzer Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 as a Registered Nurse. She went on to utilize her nursing skills in various hospitals and nursing facilities throughout central Ohio. Jean had keen insight into the suffering of others and provided meticulous care in meeting both the physical and emotional needs of ill patients and family members. Jean had a passion for music and began honing her exceptional voice listening to and imitating opera singers. She grew up in a musical family in a poor coal-mining town where the evening pastime was sitting on the back porch with a guitar and the harmony of 5 girls and 2 boys. She had a gift that grew with little training and she could pick up most instruments and play by ear. Some of her happiest times were spent playing piano and singing with her siblings. She loved to read a variety of literature including the Bible. Jean was probably most noted for her shopping skills. She was extremely adept at finding high quality items at basement bargain prices. If professional shopping had been an option when she was deciding her career, she might have left the world without the skills of this great nurse. With all of Jean’s great talents and gifts, her greatest love was for the Lord. She enjoyed sitting with loved ones, discussing the meaning of scripture, and finding that the answers to life were found in the hands of an Almighty and Loving God. Jean was preceded in death by her father and mother, Elijah Fraley and Goldie Eggers Fraley, and her sisters Christine Epling and Carol Sue Smith. She is survived by her siblings Velma Tufto, Elberta Rohrer,Ron Fraley and Larry Fraley her children, Judith (Dennis) Jankowski, Sandra (James) Nolen, Kelly (Lewis) George and Richard Boggs, her grandchildren, Jeanne Goodin, Michael Jankowski, Rachel Jankowski, Jeff Jankowski, Katie Jankowski, Landon Nolen Boggs, Hannah Nolen, Emily Nolen, Sarah Hammond, Joseph George, and Maria George. Funeral Services will be held at The Vineyard Church in Johnstown, Ohio on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 1PM with an hour prior visitation beginning at 12 noon.
