

Emma Jane “E.J.” Barnhart Bowman, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at her home in Friendship Village of Dublin. A retired teacher with the Upper Arlington School System, she last taught at Barrington Elementary School as a 5th Grade Teacher. A graduate of Canal Winchester High School and Capital University. She was a devoted member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church. E.J. enjoyed living at Friendship Village of Dublin and never knew a stranger. A loving Mother and Grandmother, she is survived by her son Gary and Linda Bowman; grandchildren Kathleen and Nate Bowman; sister-in-law Eva Barnhart; nieces and nephews Margie Hunter, Linda L. Cook, MD, Beverly (Chris) Hockman and Paul R. (Joan) Barnhart. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Bowman; sons Randall L and Brian L. Bowman; brother William P. Barnhart; sister Lillian (Francis) Cook; nephew Larry Hunter. Family will receive friends Thursday 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 19th, 2013 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Rd., Columbus, 43220. Private interment at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
