Emma Lee "Emmie" Ranney, age 90, of Plain City, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015. She was born on November 9, 1924 to the late Frank and Irene Heft. She was a 1942 graduate of West High School and worked as Treasurer for her family business, DW Ranney and Sons. Emmie was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Columbus. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Jack Ranney; and sister, Betty Raver. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Haslett Ranney; children, Donald (Pam) Ranney, Dave (Sue) Ranney; and Roxanne (Paul) Lambert; sister, Fran Alder; daughter in-law, Joy Ranney; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 4:00PM-6:00PM followed by funeral service at 6:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 West Broad St., Columbus, Ohio. Pastor John Hood officiating. Interment will be held privately at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio. Donations in Emmie's memory may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice.
