Ernest Thompson Park

Ernest T. "Ernie" Park Sr., age 92 of Columbus, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015. Ernie was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Harvey and Edith Park. Also preceded in death by 5 siblings. Ernie graduated from North High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country with the 359th Engineer Regiment. Following, Ernie graduated from The Ohio State University and later began working for Standard Oil in Venezuela, South America. He also worked a number of years as Assistant Director of Student Affairs with The Ohio State University and retired from C.E. Morris Company. Ernie was a loving family man who had a great sense of humor. He was a longtime member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church and a member of the Scandinavian Club. He enjoyed traveling, dancing and gardening. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Ardyce Park; children, Jennifer (William Hahn) Park and Tom (Karen) Park; and grandchildren, Trey and Rannon Park. A memorial service celebrating Ernie's life will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Rd. Rev. Paul Ulring officiating.
