Esmeralda Rutherford

Esmeralda “Lucy” Rutherford, age 62, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Kobacker House with family by her side. She was born January 12, 1961 in Lima, Ohio, daughter of the late Manuel Garcia and Ninfa Alvarado. Lucy was an electrocardiogram technician with several local hospitals for many years. She will be dearly missed and is survived by her husband Steven Loughry; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Francisco Carrillo; son, Nicholas Rutherford and his girlfriend, Kayleigh Rinck; stepson Brandon Loughry; beloved granddaughters, Selena, Kaylie and Lia; numerous nieces and nephews including Trina Dova, Tara Monroe and Christopher Duran, other relatives and many friends. Besides her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her brother, Santos Andrade and sisters, Esperanza “Hope” Duran and Alicia Monroe. Lucy was a strong woman of faith and attended Peace United Methodist Church where she was active in the Crocheting Circle. She was the glue that kept her family together and especially loved spoiling her granddaughters. She had a great sense of humor and touched the lives of everyone she came into contact with. A Celebration of Lucy’s Life will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, July 23, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, where family will receive friends after 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday.
