Esther M. Reed

Esther M. Reed, age 84, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the Manor Care of Westerville after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s disease. Esther was born on September 11, 1927 in Greenup, KY; she was the daughter of the late Ballard and Anna Luna Caudill. Esther was also preceded in death by husband of 53 years, Robert “Bob” R. Reed; sister, Evelyn Yeager; and brothers, Lovell, Jimmy and Max Caudill. She is survived by her daughter Donna Lisa Reed and her life partner, Joseph John MacDuffie; sisters, Garnet Shaw and Diane Cartee; and brother, Kenneth Caudill. Esther was a long time real estate agent for Robert R. Reed and Associates. Esther was a wonderful Homemaker, and loved to entertain there. Her gatherings were always perfect. She was a member of the Athletic Club with Bob and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Esther was a member of Brookwood Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 5-8pm at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230; where funeral services will be at 11:30am on Friday, December 16, 2011. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
