

Gene was born in London, Ohio on September 26, 1937, to Charles and Frieda (King) Buehler. He graduated in 1955 from London High school. He then joined the Navy Reserves.
Gene married his best friend, love of his Life Wilda (Kelley) Buehler on September 21, 1957 in Liberty, Indiana.
Gene started out as a Deputy Sheriff for Madison County then went to work at Nationwide Insurance Company in 1964, as claims adjuster, then went onto Westfield insurance Company as a claims adjuster, promoted to Assistant Vice President at the Westfield home office in Westfield Center, Ohio where he then retired in 1997.
Gene took pride in his home, especially his lawn and flowers. Always working on home improvements and watering flowers. camping, riding motorcycles, Lake Erie and the ocean. He was an avid animal lover, always had food out for all, not one animal would go hungry.
Gene was an original parishioner at the former St. Anthony Church, now St. Josephine of Bakhita at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He enjoyed being a member of Columbus Claims Club and the NRA.
Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Wilda (Kelley) Buehler; his children Debbie, Tom, Doug and Kelley (Joe) Valentine; grandchildren: Micheal, Joseph Andrew (Sandra), Steven, Jeffery (Cecelia), Abby, Philip Buehler, Joe, Maggie and Ellie Valentine; Sister’s in-law Joanie Buehler and Carol Young; along with nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his father Charles; mother Frieda; and brother Tom Buehler. Also, brother’s in law William Kelley and Steve Young; sister’s in law Karen Carroll, Mary Snyder; and the best sister-in-law he treated like another daughter, Judy Kelley.
A visitation for Eugene will be held Thursday February 13, 2025 from 4:00-7:00PM at Advantage by Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Friday, February 14th at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish.
