

Eugene "Ham" Hamilton, 89, of New Albany, Ohio passed away peacefully on April 12, 2018. He was born September 5, 1928 in Paintsville, KY to Malcolm and Lula (Harris) Hamilton. He married at a young age, left the world of farming, and began his lifelong career with North American Rockwell (1951 through retirement), starting out as a press operator. He proudly served as president of United Auto Workers Local #927 for 5 terms. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Hamilton, son Steven Hamilton, son-in-law Ahmad "Hippie" Nahvi, sister Barbara Smith and brother Charles "Pee-Wee" Hamilton. He is survived by his daughter Diane Nahvi and son Gary Hamilton; grandchildren Brian Hamilton, Christina (Ken) Ledbetter, Jason (Kacie Pedon) Nahvi and Justin (Denise) Nahvi; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Brenda Hamilton and brother Malcolm Hamilton Jr. Funeral Service 11am Saturday, April 21, 2018 (visitation 10-11am) at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 with interment at Green Lawn Cemetery; Eddie Sutherland presiding. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank in Eugene's memory.
