Evelyn I. Compton

Evelyn I. Compton, age 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Kobacker House. Evelyn was born on March 10, 1936 in Washington C.H. to the late Virginia Walls and Kenneth Cooper. Preceding her in death was her husband Clinton L. Compton; the Cooper uncles and aunts; step-daughter Sheila Smith. Evelyn was a graduate of Washington Court House High School. She was a book enthusiast who loved to read. She loved to travel, some of her favorite trips were the Hawaiian cruise with her daughter for her 70th birthday and the Alaska Cruise. She also loved traveling on the senior trips to different east coast cities which always amazed her. She looked forward to her Florida trips during January to visit her favorite cousins Vera and Clyde. Although not an avid sports enthusiast she loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and of course The Best Damn Band in the Land. Evelyn will be deeply missed by her loving daughter Sherri L. Kelly; grandson Paul (Brooke) Kelly; great-grandsons Gabriel and Michael Kelly; sister Barbara Strahan; cousins Ruth Johnson and Dorothy (Bruce) Wood, son-in law Robert Smith and all of her dear friends at the Wellington. Family will have a private graveside service at Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. P.O.
