Evelyn L. Reed

Evelyn L. Reed, 86, of Circleville, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Pickaway Manor. She was born June 10, 1924 in Circleville, the daughter of George Edward “Ed” and Lee Oma (Greeno) Henn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Allen Reed; her children, Bobby McKirgan and Vickie Augustine;

grandchildren, Timmy and Billy Augustine; great-granddaughter, Destiny Branson; brothers, Kenneth, Richard and Frederick Henn; and sister, Ann Henn. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Debbie Seum (William) O’Rock; son, Wayne (Diane) Reed; grandchildren, Belinda (Todd) Sparks, Chad Reed, Cindy (Joshua) Johnson, Amy Young, Christina (Curtis) Climer and Chris “Bip” Wheeler; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and daughter-in-law, Janet McKirgan. Evelyn graduated from Circleville High School in 1942. She then went to work at the Army deport where she took care of black widow spiders. Later she worked at G.C. Murphys, G.E., Sears, Berger Hospital and the VFW. Evelyn was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her greatest joy was her family and being surrounded by her kids and grandkids. Funeral service will be held 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home.
