

Evelyn V. Stephens, 90, passed away peacefully at Friendship Village Dublin on December 21, 2022. Born Evelyn V. Kleshock in Cambria Township, PA, Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Dr. Thomas M. Stephens; parents Mary (Sinchock) and Charles Kleshock; and siblings Anne Collins (John), Charles Kleshock (Vera), Nicholas Kleshock (Agnes), Peter Kleshock (Wilda), Rose McDonald (John), and Mary Lou Haner (Paul). She leaves nieces Eileen and Rosemary, both of western PA, other family in the Youngstown, Ohio area, “surrogate” daughter and granddaughter Deborah and Danielle Telfer of Columbus, Ohio, and countless friends whose lives she touched through her generous and caring spirit. Evelyn graduated from Youngstown University (now Youngstown State University) with a degree in education and served for a period of time as a special education teacher. She founded, with her husband Tom, the Thomas M. and Evelyn V. Stephens Scholarship to support Youngstown State University teacher education students committed to teaching in public school districts. The family sends sincere thanks to Capital City Hospice and the many associates of Friendship Village Dublin for their care and support over the past several years.
