Fayrene Bryant (better known as Cricket), 90, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at The Forum at Knightsbridge in Columbus, Ohio under the great care of Hospice and her nurses who cared for her. She was born on March 17, 1932 in Casey County, Kentucky to the late Ransom and Rosa Napier Hatter. Fayrene was a bookkeeper, which she enjoyed and worked in real estate for a short time. She loved making apple pie for guests and loved ones, watching and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, and spending time loving on her pets. As a child, because she had black hair and was small her nickname became Cricket (she could run like the wind, too). Tulips were her most favorite flower. Most of all she greatly cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fayrene is preceded in death by her parents, Ransom and Rosa Hatter; her loving husband of 60 years, Billy Gene Bryant; one beautiful daughter, Joette Bryant; three sisters, Anna Belle Hatter, Lela Dunham, and Marlene Durham; and six brothers, Terrell Hatter, Charles Hatter, Ob Hatter, Tony Hatter, Mitch Hatter and Ben Hatter. She is survived by two beloved daughters, Janet Denese Bryant of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jana Needham and spouse Horace of Magnolia, Texas; four grandchildren, Erin Hunnicutt and spouse Johnny, Bryant Zwayer and spouse April, Jessica Burgos and spouse Victor, and Julia Zwyth and spouse Peter; and four great-grandchildren; Lily, Penelope, Jayla and Amara. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, at 430-6pm at Veritas Tri-City Church, 4772 Cemetery Rd, Hilliard, OH 43026. Fayrene and her husband's ashes will be released together. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation be made to the Franklin County Humane Society.
