Floyd A. Nelson

Floyd Andrew Nelson, Jr, age 94 of Hampton, Va. passed away 6 Dec 2021 in his residence at The Chamberlin, Fort Monroe. He was born on 4 Dec 1927 in Columbus, the son of Floyd Sr and Delphine (Monnett) Nelson. Lt Col. Floyd "Rocky" Nelson, USAF, Ohio ANG (Ret), served 33 years as an USAF tanker pilot finishing his career with the 160th ARG at Rickenbacker AFB. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Janette Nelson (Dolby) and son, Gerald E. Nelson. Surviving are his son Patrick and wife Myra Nelson of Corpus Christie, Tx; daughter-in-law Linda Nelson of Round Mountain, Ca; son Philip Nelson of Va Beach, Va; daughter Susan and husband Mark Andrew of Danville, Ca; son Michael and Marion Nelson of Gig Harbor, Wa; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A visitation time will be held from 6-7 pm Monday, 13 Dec 2021 at Schoedinger Funeral Services, 3920 Broadway, Grove city. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 11 am at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Michael Watson Celebrant. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery with Air Force Military Honors.
