

Fran Shaevitz, 82, of Upper Arlington formerly of Lake White and Chillicothe and official snowbirder in Cape Coral, Florida. She was born August 20, 1930 in Murphysboro, Illinois to the late Ben and Jo Campanella. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers, Frank and Vince. Fran will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert; children, Ben Shaevitz, Amy Bouhall, and Kay (Tom) Paazig; and grandchildren, Samantha, Emily, and Matthew Bouhall; and Max, Josie, and Myles Paazig.
Fran grew up in Chester, Illinois. She attended college for one year in St. Louis and transferred when her parents moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Fran was a proud graduate of University of Alabama. A fun memory is of the Sugar Bowl game - Bama vs. OSU. Mom had an A of one side of her collar and O on the other. She enjoyed cheering on the Bucks and watching the band.
Fran loved to travel, garden, bird watch, read, scout flea markets as well as work puzzles, play cards and games. She was also very active in charity work in Chillicothe including Ross County Easter Seal Society and the YMCA. Fran was active in the garden club and bridge club. Fran enjoyed performing with her friends in the local charity reviews. She had a quick wit and enjoyed a good laugh. Fran loved summertime at Lake White especially when we would link all the boats together and enjoy great friends, fun and lots of sunshine. She enjoyed playing golf and tennis.
Fran and Bob made many memories when they traveled the world. World-wide destinations include Spain, Russia, China, Italy, France, Costa Rica, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Mexico, Egypt, and more. She also visited all over United States including a trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, New Mexico, California and everywhere in between. Many friends and family shared in these trips. Fran loved Florida and spent many years in Delray Beach. Boasting that she saw Venus and Serena Williams play before they became famous tennis players. She loved Cape Coral and the burrowing owls. She was thrilled to meet so many wonderful friends at the Newcomer’s Club.
Fran was a wonderful grandma and has really enjoyed her grandkids. She loved teaching them gin rummy, mahjong and rummikub. The grandkids had fun teaching her how to use her iPad. Fran loved to dote on her grandkids and enjoyed many shopping trips for the cutest outfits. She was proud about their wonderful grade cards and what great kids they all are.
Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held April 20th, 3:30 pm at Northwest Chapel, 6700 Rings Road, Dublin OH 43016. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.
