

Frank J. Hammond, 93, of New Albany passed away peacefully on Feb 1, 2021. Born July 3, 1927 in Columbus, OH to Frank and Florence Hammond, Frank was the second-youngest of seven children. A veteran of World War 2, Frank served his country in the US Army, followed by a 38-year career at The Timken Company. After his retirement, Frank served his community by driving a school bus for Johnstown-Monroe schools for 10 years. An amazing father and grandfather, Frank was a friend to anyone who met him. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and was an avid Buckeye fan. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and sisters; wife of 63 years, Phyllis; daughter, Linda and son-in-law, Princeton Hosier. Frank is survived by his daughter, Mary (Frank) Sanford of Johnstown; grandchildren, Angela (Joe) Northrop of Granville; Scott Sanford (Lea Dawn) of Gahanna; Glenn Hosier of Gahanna; and 7 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 5pm-7pm at Franklin United Brethren Church, 7171 Central College Rd, New Albany, OH 43054. Funeral Service will be held the following day, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10am. Interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery, 4585 Reynoldsburg New Albany Road, New Albany, 43054.
