

Frank Edward Johnson, Jr., age 81, of Midlothian, Virginia, passed away suddenly Saturday, November 21, 2015. Frank was born in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Frank Sr. and Bernice (Finn) Johnson. Frank graduated from Jesuit University of Detroit. Following, he entered the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country as a special forces Ranger. He worked as a Chemical Engineer throughout his career with Stroh Brewery, Chrysler Corp, Chevron, and retiring from Ethyl Corp. Frank was a friendly, thoughtful, and outgoing man who made friends wherever he went. He was a member of St. Edwards Parish, a 50 year member of the American Chemical Society, and a lifetime member of the Elks. Frank was an animal lover who enjoyed golf, basketball, gardening, and fishing. Above all else, even winning the football pool, Frank loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson and granddaughter. Frank will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia “Chris” Johnson; daughter, Peggy Haugh; grandchildren, Patrick and Brigid Haugh; sisters, Meryl (James) Akers and Kathryn (George) Firlit; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State St., where family will receive friends from 8:30 A.M. until time of service Saturday. Father David Gwinner, Celebrant. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
