Frederick “Gene” Peterson, age 80, born June 6, 1929 in Derby, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010. Gene was a US Army Veteran. He retired from General Motors. He also was the owner of the Grove City Inn for 42 years. Gene found great enjoyment fishing in Canada. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Grace; parents, Clyde and Loretta (Fast) Peterson; and brother, Billy Peterson. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dave Preston of Hilliard; grandsons, David (Lesa) Preston and their children Sydney, Samantha, and Taylor of Hilliard, Kevin (Stephanie) Preston and children Devin, Darion, and Andre of Utica, and Keith (Brooke) Preston and son Austin of Plain City; brothers, Jackie (Mary) and Bobby (Judy) Peterson; special friend Arlene and many friends at the Grove City Inn; and his buddies, Grizzly, Brutus, and Molly. A celebration of his life will be held with a visitation 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and a funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 3 at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL 3920 Broadway, Grove City with interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery.
