George Patrick Lowery

George Patrick Lowery, age 69, of Delaware, formerly of Grove City, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016. He was born March 17, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to the late George and Margaret (Griffith) Lowery. He was retired from F&R Lazarus and the Ohio Department of Health. He loved cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes and traveled to many away games and bowl games. He was a former volunteer for the Pleasant Township Fire Department and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grove City. He also enjoyed going on cruises and after retirement spending the winters in Florida. George is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Charlotte (Bair) Lowery; sisters in law, DJ (Ken) Ferguson, Patty (Chuck) Balk, and AJ Bair; cousins, Joe (Dolly) Luckhaupt, Tom (Evalyn) Brandt, John (Marie) Brandt, Joan (Chris) Lorenz, Becky (Bob) Hawkins, and Maura (Joe) Bellamy; nieces, Amy (Casey) Russell and Jennifer (Ryan) Wickline; nephews, Chad (Marcia) Ferguson, Chief Petty Officer Brian (Angie) Balk, Mike (Kim) McCarrell, Mark (Stephanie) McCarrell, Larry Bair, Jr., and Kevin Bair; special great nephew and great niece, Camden and Kenleigh Russell for whom he saved his quarters for video games; and very special friends, Jim and Janet Kiener. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Grove City, 4227 Broadway, Grove City with Rev. Robert R. Tolar, Jr. officiating. Graveside committal will also take place 2:00 PM Wednesday at Kingwood Memorial Park.
