

George A. Taylor Jr., age 70, of Columbus, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Kobacker House. He was born in Riverdale, MD, a son of the late George A., Sr. and Helen Weigel Taylor. He grew up in Hamilton and Dayton, Ohio. He was a graduate of the University of Dayton and attended The Ohio State University. George was the owner/operator of train hobby shops in Columbus and Dayton for many years. He loved his family and his customers. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elaine (White); children, Gina (Frank) Dreistadt, Christine Taylor, Cathy (Wade) Meyer and Andrew (Nicole) Taylor; grandchildren, Benjamin and Julia. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Peggy Spenny, Michael (Linda) Taylor, Michele (Jake) Ensminger, Lisa Taylor and Mark (Mary Ann) Taylor; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother William Taylor and sister Mary Ellen Betz. He served on the Constitution Bicentennial Commission with former Chief Justice Warren Burger. George was an avid Cincinnati Reds and OSU Buckeyes fan and was passionate about trains and toys. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Contributions in George A.
