

Gerald “Gene” Garrett, 65 passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017. Born in Circleville, OH, on April 9, 1952 to Robert C. Garrett and Martha (Isaac) Garrett-Lester. Gene was a 1970 graduate of Circleville High School and was a member of the high school marching band. He started work for RCA after high school and retired after 37 years of dedicated service. He took up truck driving for a few years after retirement. Gene loved to play guitar and enjoyed classic country music. He could often be found cruising down the road on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Gene lived life to its fullest and he had the most warm and genuine smile that would light up every room he walked into. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Garrett; he is survived by his wife, Donna Carter-Garrett; mother, Martha Garrett-Lester; aunts, Goldie Lindsay and Dolly (Woodroe) Perkins; uncle, Ralph (Donna) Isaac; cousins, Doyne Wiggins, Theresa Snow, “Tootsie” (Wayne) Malott, Martha Moore, Melba (Jack) Seevers, Penny Perkins, and many other nieces and nephews; sisters, Jenny Lynn Garrett and Cindy (Mark) Seaton; brother, Robbie (Pamela) Garrett; children, Lynn (Philip) Hollingsworth, Jeannie (Flex Haynes) Sims, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Jimmey (Barbara) Carter and Fred Carter; special friend, Debbie Jones. He will be dearly missed by many. The memorial service will be held Monday, November 6, 2017 at 6:00 pm, with visitation from 5:00-6:00 pm at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger.
