

Gerald W. “Bill” “Spanky” Hall, Jr., 68, of Circleville, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at Brown Memorial Home following an extended illness. He was born August 25, 1943 in Columbus, the son of the late Gerald W. Hall, Sr. and Margaret Wolfe Hall. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Dupont after 30 years service. His hobbies included hunting deer, jet-skiing, 4 wheeling and wildlife. Known as “Bill” to his family and “Spanky” to his friends at work, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia “Peachie” Simmons; and son-in-law, Mike Tarbill. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Reeser) Hall of Circleville; daughter, Jody (Daniel Loomis) Tarbill of Circleville; son, David Hall of Whitehall; step-children, Renee Spiller and Jeanna (Les) Wilson of Circleville and Tera (Dwayne) McCloskey of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Kody and Kory Barnes, Alysha and Emily Spiller, Megan Spiller, Tanner and Brady Wilson, and Miranda and Seth McCloskey; great-granddaughter, Indy Lambert; sisters, June (Clyde) Taylor of Chillicothe, Harriet (Walt) Salyers of Circleville, and Carolyn Hall of Monroe, MI; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Ferrell and Dr. Doyne Wiggins officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery with military services provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard.
