

where she grew up and lived her entire life. After attending East High School,
she married Robert W. Mills, and with him, raised three children and maintained
a household. Gladys was an excellent cook, loved to go shopping, and had a
great sense of humor. In the latter part of her life, she found joy and purpose
by designing and making cards that incorporated Christian scripture, which she
distributed as “the spirit moved her.”
Gladys was preceded in death by her father, Roy Franklin Goodykoontz; mother,
Almeda Goodykoontz; brothers Esthel and Ray Goodykoontz; sister-in-law
Thelma Goodykoontz; grandson Bryan Mills; and niece, Jan Goodykoontz.
Gladys is survived by her husband, Robert W. Mills, whom she married in 1941;
her brother, Jack (Mary) Goodykoontz; two sons, Robert Lee (Therese) and
Rodney Alan (Leslie); daughter, Sharon Lynn (Brian) Hastings; grandchildren,
Kelly Mills, Adam and Diane Hastings; nieces and nephews.
She will be fondly remembered for her loving and kind nature, her devotion to
knowing and doing the will of God, and for her favorite expression, Hang it up!
Funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Schoedinger
Worthington Chapel 6699 N. High Street where friends may call one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
