

Gordon C. “Bud” Irwin, Jr., age 94 of Worthington, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013. Bud was born in Canal Zone Ancon, Panama, son of the late Gordon C. and Anna Irwin. Also preceded in death by twin sister, Jean Vitiz. Bud was a U.S. Army Veteran. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Virginia. Bud worked as a circuit designer supervisor for Bell Telephone Laboratories a division of AT&T now Alcatel-Lucent in both New York City and Columbus. Bud was a caring, detailed man who was very family oriented. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian, Upper Arlington and the Telephone Pioneers. He also enjoyed playing bridge, golf, Sudoku, and loved a good joke. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Ruth R. Irwin; daughters, Courtney (John) Boynton, Dulcy (Bill) Michel, and Kathy (John) Conway; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 10 A.M. -12 P.M. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. There will be lots of love and laughter to fill the room.
