Gregory Samuel Breiding

Gregory Samuel "Greg" Breiding, age 62, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at home in Columbus, Ohio. Greg was born on January 28, 1954 in Akron, Ohio to Samuel and Rita (McGuinness) Breiding.

Greg was a leader of his family and of men and women, who lived and led in a quiet, gentle spirit with the wisdom of heaven in the love of his Heavenly Father. He is best remembered for the husband and father he was and for the kindness of his heart, from which he always lived to serve others, with an ever-present smile. He was a creative force in his professional life as an Industrial Designer but never more than in the life of His Creator that manifested continually in his love of gardening and cooking, and his masterful solutions to every problem from a hurting heart, to home repairs and technology quandaries. There was never a project or a creation that his children could dream up that wasn't met with the confidence, "Dad can do it!" His life flowed in serving and helping others with caring, thoughtful and wise words and prayers, and through his hands, in laboring at any task set before him, with excellence. His passion to love people and to faithfully serve God was rewarded with the last 10 years of his life being focused on serving in prayer ministry throughout the US and in Israel and New Zealand with JH Ranch and Ministries, where he and Lyn developed the deepest, richest relationships that were the treasure of their life together during these years. His immeasurable influence of life and love lives on in the innumerable testimonies of those who were touched with life-changing encounters with God through him. He was known as a comforting, guiding father and a man of peace not only to his own children, but to a generation of younger people in whom he invested his love, time, prayers and support, to see them live as sons and daughters of God and fulfill their destinies. His desire is that His legacy would live on in supporting this mission in all the nations. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Samuel R. Breiding. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lyn (Schooley) Breiding; son, Greg (Lauren) Breiding; daughter, Claire Breiding (Sebastian Harris, fiancé); mother, Rita Breiding; and sisters, Brenda (Ron) Brown, Sherry Poulson and Cynthia (Scott) Russell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM on Friday, December 9, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where a memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2016.
