

Harold B. “Hal” Epler, Jr., age 68, of Upper Arlington, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at his home. Hal was born on March 24, 1942 in Columbus; he is the son of the late Harold Sr. and Frances Epler. Hal is a graduate of Upper Arlington High School; and received his bachelor’s degree in business from The Ohio State University. He was owner and operator of General Clay Products. Hal was involved in YPO (Young Presidents Organization), OSU President’s Club, BIA (Brick Institute of America) and the Upper Arlington Library Board. Hal was a long time member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where he served on the school board. He enjoyed grilling with his family famous BBQ sauce and loved a good meal. Hal loved his time in Florida and spent many days relaxing on the beach with his loving wife, Stephanie; who survives. Hal is also survived by his children, Hal (Carla) Epler, Mike (Debbi) Epler and Jennifer (Matt) Hoeller; grandchildren, J.D., Max, Gabe, Mason, Maggie, Morgan, Molly and Madeline Rose; and brother, Donald Epler. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 4-8pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 10:30am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220. Fr. Michael Watson and Fr. Bill Arnold co-celebrants. Inurnment will take place at Green Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
