

Harold B. Hill, age 91, of Upper Arlington, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 26, 1923 in Cambridge, Ohio, the son of the late Harold B. Sr. and Mary (Finch) Hill. Besides his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his son Randall S. Hill in 1983 and sister, Ruth Ann Hill Hartner in 2013. He was the Founder/President of Hill Construction Company for over 60 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who adored all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Winifred (Sayre) Hill; children, Philip C. (Dorothy) Hill, Upper Arlington, Mindy Hill (John) Valan, Lancaster, PA, Gary D. Hill, West Chester, PA and Ken E. (Robin) Hill, Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Kendall, Connor, Kaitlyn, Randy, Amanda, Jason, Ethan, Matt (Tina) and Meredith (Danny); seven great-grandchildren; brother, John W. (Connie) Hill Sr.; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Harold served in the 105th AACS Squadron of the United States Air Force during WW II. He was a longtime member of Riverside United Methodist Church, where he was a past Trustee, an usher and instrumental in the construction of the church bell tower. Harold was a 65 year member of Neoacacia Lodge # 595 F & AM and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus. He was a volunteer and a member of the Ohio Historical Society. He was the visionary and a major contributor for the building of the Ohio Village Church and Education Center. Harold had a giving heart and spirit that touched the lives of his family, many friends and strangers alike through his generosity. Friends may call 4-7 pm Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger Rd., where Masonic Service will be held 6:30 pm Sunday. Funeral service will be held 10:30 am Monday, November 17, 2014 at Riverside United Methodist Church, 2701 Zollinger Road, where family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 am Monday. Rev.
