

He was born August 23, 1929 near Laurelville to Wilson K. “Dot” and Dora V. (Smith) Ross. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis A. (McFadden) Ross in November of 1998; and his parents.
Harry farmed with his father until he was drafted into the Army. He served during the Korean War and used his military benefits to go to Ohio University where he graduated with a BS in Education. He spent a short time teaching, then returned to farming full time with his father and brother, Wilson. He and Wilson formed a partnership, farming over 3000 acres.
Harry was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Laurelville and was a Past Master of Adelphi Masonic Lodge, Past Patron of Evergreen Chapter Eastern Star and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a former board member of Pickaway Grain and Salt Creek Valley Bank.
Harry Mack is survived by his son, Ryan (Lyndi) Ross; grandson, Ian Ross; step-son, Randy (Donalda) Strous; step-grandchildren, Kellie, Kristie and Stephanie; sister, Dixie DeVol; brother, Wilson (Mary Lou) Ross; special niece, Tammy (Brad) Jones; nephews, Trent Ross, Stephen (Holly) Ross, Ross (Melissa) DeVol, and Robbie (Lisa) Devol; and special friend, Marlene Riddle.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Davis officiating. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi, with military service provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home.
