Helen Leary

Helen Ann (Hooker) Leary, 92, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born on September 13, 1929 in Uhrichsville, Ohio to the late John and Gertrude (Sullivan) Hooker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Leary; grandson, Daniel Leary; and sister, Greta (Hooker) Overturf.

She was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory, a founding member of St. Matthias Church, a member of Northern Lights Library Club, and belonged to a Sewing Club.

Helen is survived by children, Doug (Diana) Leary, Brian (Sharon) Leary, Matt Leary, Scott (Cathy) Leary, Sue Leary, Betsy (Andy) Pesce, and Frank (Stacy) Leary; Grandchildren, Brandelyn, Angela, Kristopher, Amy (Chuck), Allie (John), Sean, Josh, Sara (Joey), and Rebecca; Great Grandchildren, Kaylee (Brandon), Aubrey, Isabelle, Dominic, Andrew, Bailey, Logan, Ellie, Johnny, Lorelai, Olivia, and Reese; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Judy and Butch Hunt, Bunny Creasap, Sandi Brennan, Debbie Ashley (Kenny), and Deb and Rob Porter; loving caretakers, Sean and Rosie Cleary, Della, Gwen, Ronda, Erin, Molly, First Light and Promedica Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 4pm until 7pm on Monday, June 20 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43229. There will be a funeral Mass at 10am on Tuesday, June 21 at St. Matthias Church, 1582 Ferris Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43224, followed by a gravesite service at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 High St, Lockbourne, Ohio 43137.
