

Helen Mesko 90, of Grove City, Ohio (formerly of Lorain, Ohio) passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 while being cared for at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Helen was a graduate of Lorain High School, Lorain, Ohio, class of 1942. She was a proud member of the "Greatest Generation" and supported the World War II effort while employed as an Aircraft Inspector at Western Automatic Manufacturing in Elyria, Ohio. After the war she relocated to Grove City, Ohio where she found employment with the State of Ohio Savings and Loan Division. She retired as a Deputy Superintendent after forty two and a half years of dedicated service. Her interest in art lead her to become involved in the Grove City Arts Council where she served as Treasurer. Over the years she became an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Grove City. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Adam and Mary Mesko, Brothers John and Adam Mesko, Sister Mary (Mesko) Wojtko and lifelong friend Geneva Beckett. She is survived by Niece Carol Ann Mesko, Amherst, Ohio, Nephew Robert (Connie) Mesko, Vermilion, Ohio, Nephew Eugene (Linda) Wojtko, LaGrange, Ohio, Niece Mary Jane (Alfred) Russo, Lorain, Ohio, Great Nephew Robert J. Mesko, Sandusky, Ohio, Great Niece Deborah Mesko, Bozeman, Montana, Great Niece Elaine Mesko, Garfield Heights, Ohio, Great, Great Niece, Olivia Langan, Bozeman, Montana. Friends may call 2-4 PM Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway, Grove City. Private graveside committal and burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio. Helen was very fond of painting, especially wildlife and was very supportive of protecting all wildlife and domestic animals. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Capital Area Humane Society, Ohio Wildlife Center, Columbus or a charity of your choice.
