

Henry “Hank” Maser, 80, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011. He was born May 22, 1930 in Columbus and was a lifelong resident. Henry was a 1948 South High graduate and received his Law Degree from OSU. He served in the United States Air Force as a JAG officer. Henry operated his law practice downtown until his retirement. He was a longtime member of St. John’s Evangelical Church and was a past President of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers from ’68-’69. Henry’s lifelong passion was Handball and the camaraderie associated with it. He played in local, state, and national tournaments and valued the friends and support he gained through handball. He enjoyed playing at Premier At Sawmill Athletic Club. Henry will be remembered as a man of great integrity who was a mentor and friend to many; a fair and caring man, and had a great sense of humor. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marie Maser. Henry will be missed by his daughters, Christy Maser and Carol (fiancé, Scott Wilcox) Maser; granddaughter, Chloe; mother to his children, Marilyn Nerem; sister, Helen Ristani; nieces, Lisa and Nina; and many close friends and confidants in the handball fraternity. Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. and again Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus.
