Hollis Hooper, age 71, of Columbus, passed away at home with friends and family on Thursday, December 31, 2009. He was born on April 27, 1938 in Hohenwald, TN. Hollis enjoyed football and golf. He served as a high school football referee and was an avid OSU Buckeyes fan. His primary work was in automobile sales but he also was a barber working at Hs & Ms and later at home. Family vacations were important to Hollis which included going to Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Tennessee, and Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy; and brothers, Willard, Gene, and Bill. He is survived by his wife, Roxanne whom he met at Frisch’s; daughters, Sandy Green of Colorado and Holly Teague of Cleveland; step-children, Amber and Michael Moorhead of Columbus; grandchildren, Willie, Logan, Kyana, Anekah, and DeMoris; and sisters, Jane Cathers and Betty Tucker of Sharon, TN. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 5 at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Broad St. where the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
