My mom, my best friend. She was the one person in my world who knew me better than I knew myself.

If you knew her, you knew what it felt to be loved unconditionally, because that's what she did. She loved people. She had so much room in her heart for anyone who walked into our lives. Even a few of you who she never met, she loved you because I love you or because Chris or my dad loves you. 

She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in January. And wow was she so optimistic all the time. She would tell the Drs, family, friends and strangers, "yeah, I have cancer, so what, I have two grand babies that I'm going to watch grow up, I'm going to be around for years, I'm going to beat this". She truly believed this. She loved Alexis and Noah more than I've ever seen anyone love someone. Her eyes would sparkle every single time she laid her eyes on either one of them. Even towards the end, when she couldn't talk or open her eyes, when I would show her pictures and talk about Alexis and Noah she would make a noise and you could see her eyes twitching or try to open. It was her way of showing us that she was there and she was fighting for her family. Goodness, was she a fighter. She fought up until her very last breathe. She is by far my hero and if I can grow into even half the woman she was, then Id say, I'm doing alright. 
 
The one thing Jason and I can promise her, is that we will spend every day for the rest of our lives, reminding Noah of who she was. We will never let him forget her. 

My heart breaks today, as we say our goodbyes. I'm unsure of how I am going to survive in this crazy world without her. But I will, and I will be strong for her, my dad, brother and my son. 

Thank you, to each and everyone of you who are here today to celebrate the life of my mom. It truly means so much to the three of us.

Melissa and family -- stay strong!  Best thing I ever know to do for these circumstances is to share these words I first heard at my maternal grandma's service.  I hope they help you find comfort as they have for me on more than one occasion.  Peace and be well.

You will be greatly missed.  You were a wonderful neighbor and friend to me.

On Friday the 14th, I lost more than a dear friend. I lost a member of my family.  We shared so many wonderful times together.  I will treasure all of my memories of my dearest friend Ina.

We have shared so many wonderful times together over the years. You were always there for me. I wish there were more I could have done to comfort you and take away the pain these past couple of months. I will always be thinking of you and I hope you will be watching over me as long as I am alive. I miss you already and I love you so much.

I loved helping Ina plan Melissas wedding and bridal shower. She was such a beautiful graceful lady!! She had a wonderful sense of humor as well. When she saw me she said I was too old to have this many colors in my hair. Wait.... Maybe she was serious!:flushed:I loved her dearly and her family!!

in the short time i knew this wonderful and amazing strong woman, i instantly adored and looked up to her. she became a second mother to me and showed me the type of woman i want to be. she welcomed me into her family as if i was her own and was always there for me, helping me in anyway she could. i cherish the times i spent with her and she'll always hold a special place in my heart. i love you ina, thank you for showing me what family is all about. you'll forever be missed.
