

Inez Marie Hammond, 89, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020. She was born April 10, 1931 in Cheshire, Ohio to the late Omar Carl and Stella Mae (Swisher) Lemley. She was a 1948 graduate of Cheshire High School. Inez enjoyed working and excelled in her job at Columbus Electrical Distributors. She retired from there with 25 years of service. She loved animals, especially her Pekingese dogs, Tippy, Misty, and Rocky. Inez was very welcoming and generous. She enjoyed playing bunco and bingo with co-workers. Inez was known for her sweet and caring personality that everyone enjoyed. Family was also important to her. She cherished the time that she was able to spend together. She enjoyed vacationing, traveling, and going on cruises. She was always thankful for the gifts she received and took the time to appreciate the flowers that she given. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 49 years, Mark Hammond; son, Harold "Ed" Gardner; brother, Roy; and sisters, Isabelle and Sonia. Inez is survived by her daughter, Penny (Tom) Halterman; stepchildren, Ellonda (John) Sperry, Tina (Bob) Raley, and Mark Hammond; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. In accordance with her wishes, a private service will be held at a later date. Contributions in Inez's memory may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
