

Ingrid Helga Creager, age 76, surrounded by her family, passed away at the Palliative Care Unit of Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio after a long battle from the ravages of a stroke suffered in October 1993.
She was born 20 January 1940 in Marienburg, (West Preussen) Germany to Paul and Eva (Kindel) Gossing. Ingrid's family fled ahead of the Russian Army across Germany during the winter of 1945. In 1956, she and her family (sponsored by the Hilltop Lutheran Church) immigrated to the U.S. Ingrid and Paul were married the next year and they moved to Westerville in 1965. After her children were in grade school, she worked for Smittle's (now Uptown) Pharmacy, St. Ann's Hospital, and was a long time receptionist for Dr. John Parrish in Westerville. During this time, she also taught classes at the YWCA, Sunday school at the Church of the Messiah, and later was a member of the South High Band Boosters. She was devoted to her family, and cared for her invalid mother more than 30 years. Her family came first in everything she did.
Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by husband Paul; sons Robert (Kathy) Creager, Michael (Becky) Creager; sister Rosemarie Gossing; brother Peter (Pauline) Gossing Sr; daughter-in-law Michelle Creager; sisters in law Janis (Merrill) Hinshaw, Betty (Don Barrett), and Millie (James) Quinn; granddaughters Valerie and Amanda Creager; Kristina and Samantha Creager, Melissa (Travis) Cook, Amanda (Michael) Wade; grandson Stefan Creager; great grandsons Marcus and Huston Cook; niece Penny Gossing; nephews Klaus (Cheryl) Gossing, Peter Gossing Jr, and Steve Gossing.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice/ Palliative Care Unit of Mount Carmel Hospital.
