Irene Scarberry, age 97, of Grove City, Ohio passed away on July 28, 2025. She was born on August 30, 1927 in Robertsburg, WV to the late Jasper and Mary F. (Davis) King. Irene joins in death her parents; husband Perry Russell Scarberry; children Linda Derwis, Thomas Scarberry and Brenda Scarberry; siblings Beulah, Denver, Bonnie, Audrey, Ben and Betty. Surviving is daughter Shirley Ann Thompson; grandchildren Jennifer, Lisa, Russell, Robert, Rebecca and Dewey; numerous great grandchildren including Emily and great great-grandchildren including Teagan. Irene loved to do puzzles and as well as sew. Visitation will be held on Tuesday Aug. 5, 2025 from 4PM to 7PM at the Advantage by Schoedinger – Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204. Irene’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday Aug. 6, 2025 at 10AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Irene’s name to the American Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
