

Irwin R. (“Stu”) Stuhr, 86, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Riverside Hospital. He was born April 26, 1923 and raised in Rochester, New York, the son of Louise and John Stuhr. Dad married the love of his life, Miriam Jane Street on April 27, 1950. Mom preceded him in death in 2006. Upon graduating from high school Dad entered active duty as an aviation cadet in March 1942. Dad served a distinguished, decorated 30-year career in the Air Force, serving in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He later worked for Boeing in Tehran, Iran, and the Seattle area of Washington State. In 1981, Mom and Dad returned to Columbus Ohio. Dad was the consummate gentleman, someone who radiated kindness, generosity of spirit, and warmth. He will be missed beyond measure by his three children, John F. Stuhr and his wife, Karen, Richard W. Stuhr and his wife Eileen Woods, and Patricia A. (Stuhr) Somdalen and her husband, David; grandchildren Matthew R. Stuhr and Lauren M. Stuhr and great-grandchildren, Tyler J. Stuhr and Anthony J. Matheny. A gathering will take place to celebrate Dad’s life at Schoedinger North Chapel, at 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, on Friday, February 26, from 3:00 – 5:00PM.
