

Jack R. Williams, age 91, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Sunrise on the Scioto. He was born on April 29, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Alice Williamson. Jack attended North High School and left early to join the U.S. Navy. He served in the Pacific in World War II on the USS O'Bannon. His father passed while he was overseas and on his discharge he went to work for Greyhound Bus, where his father had been a manager. After 10 years, he went to work for TWA Airlines and retired in 1985. Jack was a volunteer at the Columbus Airport Museum and on election days for the Board of Election. He enjoyed spending summers at Indian Lake where he had a cottage. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife Sally Ann. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Toni (Nile) Hartman; nephew, Brent (Lisa) Hartman and their 2 children. Jack was also a lifelong friend of Sammy Kaye; the "Swing and Sway" big band director. His long-term friend, Pat Jones, wants to thank all the folks at Sunrise on the Scioto who made him happy during the year and a half he was with them.
