

Gundling, Jacqueline Mary (née Sweeney), 86, of Lewis Center, Ohio, formerly of Worthington, Ohio, died at home surrounded by family on May 14, 2021. Preceded in death by husband, James, parents John E. and Helen (Claffie) Sweeney. Survived by children, James (Lynda), John (Toni), Jennifer (Steven) Elliott, Michelle (Patrick) Laird, Mark, and Matthew; grandchildren Melissa, Amelia, and James Gundling, Anne (Arvind Iyengar) Elliott, Peter, Margaux, and Eliza Elliott, Mark (Kate), Daniel, Molly, and Samuel Laird, James Gundling, David and Abigail Gundling. Also survived by sister-in-law Arlene Gundling; numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends. Born in Cleveland, Ohio. Graduated from Beaumont School for Girls, and Ohio Dominican University (St. Mary of the Springs College). Longtime member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, where she participated as a member of the parish council, Eucharistic minister, and PSR. Attended daily mass at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Parish. Served as Ombudsman for Catholic Social Services and was actively involved in numerous volunteer organizations and many social service committees. She worked many years with HandR Block as a tax preparer and enrolled agent. The family would like to thank Dr. Tarek Chidiac for his compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Social Services. Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 19 at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St. Worthington, OH, from 4-7. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, Ohio, Columbus, Ohio. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
