Jacquelyn Gardine McVey

Jacquelyn "Jackie" Gardine McVey, age 90, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019. She was the youngest of six children born to Charles and Emma Stephens of St. Louis, MO. Jacquelyn is preceded in death by her husband John D. McVey and daughter Sheila (Terry) Vetter. She is survived by her children John (Angie) McVey, Margaret "Peggy" (Jim) Miller, Katheryn "Kitty" (Frank) Whyte, Stephen (Barb) McVey, and Bridget (Ken) Spotts; grandchildren Katie (Jim) LeCrone, Michael (Laura) McVey, Meagan McVey, Kevin (Brittany) McVey, Jack McVey, Peter (Danielle) Miller, Christopher (Kumiko) Miller, Mark Miller, Gabrielle Miller, Jennifer (Taylor) Niemann, Kyle Vetter, Andrea (Josh) McGowan, Lindsay (Matt) Blakesley, Christine McVey, John McVey, Fr. Matthew Spotts, Benjamin (Eileen) Spotts, Emily (Andrew) LaPorte, Michelle Spotts; and numerous great-grandchildren. Through many challenges, Jacquelyn was a witness to God's gift of life. She inspired many to face hardships with grace and elegance. Her wit brought smiles to countless friends and acquaintances. Her tenacity amazed medical professionals till the end. Her strong Faith was the rock on which she stood. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, OH 43221. The funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019, at St. Timothy Catholic Church at 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus OH 43220. Fr. Matthew Spotts presiding. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH.
