

James L. Davy, age 79, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Sunday, April 29, 2012. He was born in White Cottage, OH on July 29, 1932 to the late George and Emily Davy. Jim worked at North America for 19 years and retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company in 1993 after 23 years of service. He was in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. James was involved with Scout Troop 330 through Salem Elementary School for many years. He was a Mason for many years and was a member of the Grove City Masonic Lodge # 689. He is preceded in death by sister Mary Jane Reber. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Jo; sons, George, James “Steve” (Jerri), and Charles; grandchildren, Erin (Brandon) Collins, Emily, Elizabeth, Kyle, Sean, Chris and Charles Davy; great granddaughter, “Miss Sophie” Collins; sisters, Ruth Ann (Jim) Farber, Charlotte “Susie” Martin; brother, George “Woody” Davy; many wonderful nieces and nephews, plus several great nieces and nephews, and many devoted friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 9 – 10 am, Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Rd, where the memorial service will be held immediately following the calling hours. Pastor Michael Pratt officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in James’ memory may be made to Bethel International United Methodist Church, 1220 Bethel Rd., Columbus, OH 43220 or a homeless shelter of your choice.
