James J. Foley

James J. Foley, 80, of Gahanna, passed away on January 18, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer. Born August 25, 1937 in Buffalo, NY, he was preceded in death by parents Edward Carroll and Teresa Ann (Kirisits) Foley. Jim graduated from Aquinas High School, class of 1955, and was married in 1957 to Barbara Ann (Stewart) Foley, who also survives. In addition, he is survived by sons Michael J. (LeAnna), Thomas P. (Sue) and Joseph K. (Tammy); grandchildren Casey, Patrick, Jordan, Shannon, Jake and Jared Foley; sister Jane Vergara, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim loved golfing and Corvettes, was a member of the Shamrock Club and St. Matthew the Apostle. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna from 4-7PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11AM at St. Matthew, 804 Havens Corners Rd., Fr. Ted Sill, Celebrant. A private entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or St. Matthew Catholic Church.
