

James (Jim) Rozanski, age (94), was born in Kronenwetter, WI on February 24, 1927. Son of Leo and Mary (Balcer) Rozanski (Brever). Attended Mosinee High School. In 1943, at age 16, he went to San Francisco, CA to help with the shipbuilding effort. Enlisted in the Navy in 1944 serving on PT152 during the last year of WW2. In 1946, after his stint with the navy was over, Jim enlisted in the Army, serving in the Korean conflict. While in the Army he transferred to the (Army Air Corp) and served in Viet Nam. After 29 years, Jim retired from the military in 1973. During his military career, Jim literally traveled around the world, and was stationed in Japan, the Philippines, Korea, Germany, Turkey and Viet Nam. In 1954, Jim married Sonja (Selma) Biallass in (Germany). Their son Conrad Peter Rozanski was born on May 5, 1955. After his military career, Jim and his older brother Joe Rozanski, also a Columbus resident, became avid collectors of anything & everything. Their business cards read “Jim & Joe’s Purveyors of Finer Recyclables” and “If you have it – we want it.” Typical collections included matchbook covers, business cards, pens, pencils, key chains, yardsticks, and almost anything else bearing printed advertising. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Leo & Mary, wife Sonja, son Conrad, sister Agnes, and brothers Joseph & PeterJim is survived by daughter-in-law Linda Rozanski, grandchildren Melanie Rozanski-Melville (Keith Melville), Zachary (Ashley) Rozanski, Robbie (Jennifer) Kremer, Brad (Mayumi) Kremer, great-grandchildren Jakob, Kaleigh, Lilyan, Makiah, Natalia, Gabriella, Breanna, Jackson, Teito, Hakuto, Leia, Nephew Alan (Sheryl) Rozanski, Niece Patricia Rozanski.
