

James E. Scott (Butch) also known as “PaPa”, age 64, of Columbus(Flytown), went home to be in the arms of our heavenly father and his mother Mable Rucker, Tuesday, October 11, 2011, after a long courageous battle with cancer. James served in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church. He was also a member of the NRA and The American Legion Delaware Branch. He enjoyed spending time with family, outdoor activities, and was an out of control Michigan fan. James was a kind, caring, and supportive father, friend, and husband. He leaves behind to cherish the loving and devoted family, which he created with his wife, Debora Scott; loving children, Jimmy Scott, Melody (Anthony) Johnson, Fenicia Pace, and Sylvester (Paula) Clark; grandchildren, LeDell, Keyonna, Jazmine, Whitney, MaKayla, Preston, Sylvester Jr., Clarence, Chris, Josh, Angel, and Malik; great-grandchildren, Delwayne and Sorayah. Also devoted children that enhanced his life that he called family, Anabel Almanzar, Jaleah Miller, Dante Goodman and numerous adopted children. As PaPa would say, “Education is free, get it while you can.” Debora (Nanny) and the family would like to extend their gratitude and love that was shared in this time of need to the Columbus VA, Mt. Carmel Hospice, and to special friends Debbie Biggers, Carol Prater, Ruth Staples, Misti Lee, and dedicated Brother-in-law, Richard (Lindy) Berry.
