James R. Short passed away March 6, 2023 at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by father, Carl R. Short and mother, Fannie L. Shafer. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diane K. (Lyons) Short; son, Gregory (Laura) Short; daughter, Amy (Mark) Farrell; grandchildren, Kathleen (Jordan) Dupree, Emily Short, Jack Farrell, Nick Farrell, Luke Farrell and great-grandson, Lincoln Michael Dupree. Jim was a 1960 graduate of South High School and was very proud of his 4 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. Since his teenage years, Jim enjoyed bowling and golfing and made many friends in those communities. Family will receive friends 10 am – 12 pm Friday, March 10, 2023 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Lung Association or your favorite charity.
