

James G. Stephenson Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on April 5, 2019, in the presence of his wife and close friends, following a battle with cancer. Known as Jim to his family and friends, he was born in Columbus on March 7, 1952. Raised in Columbus, he also spent his adulthood in the city. Jim was preceded in death by his parents James G. Stephenson, Sr. and Grace Alma Stephenson, and was a 1970 graduate of Columbus North High School.
He had a long career as a sales representative, working for NuArc for over 20 years and later continued his sales career with Madeira USA LLC., where he was also assistant manager. Jim had many hobbies over the years, including DJ at car shows, trains, sewing and embroidery, woodworking, gardening, screen printing, vinyl designing, and 3D printing. He had a wealth of knowledge on all subjects and enjoyed reading the newspaper daily. He was an adventurer and was always on the go. A gentle and kind soul, Jim displayed love and generosity for everyone he came in contact with. His smile, laughter, and humor made him liked and remembered by all.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Linda S. Stephenson, as well as a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Wilma Stephenson of Florida; and son Travis Stephenson of Columbus. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Trisha Kent (Duane) and granddaughter, Addyson, as well as stepson Josh Marceau (Jackie) and grandsons Brandon and Austin. His surviving siblings include Cheryl (Larry) Stephenson Bratton of Missouri; brothers Gregg (Jo Adail) Stephenson, and Donald Stephenson of Columbus. He also left behind a niece - Mallory (Joe) Grassmuck of Kansas City, and nephew Andrew (Leslie) Bratton of Iowa, along with a great niece and two great nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place on May 24, 2019 at 1 pm visitation 2 pm service at Maynard Avenue United Methodist Church, (2350 Indianola Avenue, Columbus OH 43202), where Jim was a member since he was a child.
