James "Jim" Waters, age 74, of Whitehall, passed away on October 1, 2017. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on February 28, 1943 to the late Charles and Pauline Waters. Jim was a 1961 graduate of Newark High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Consolidated Freightways after many years of dedicated service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Jean Blaney. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Barbara Sigmon-Waters; son, Timothy Waters; step-son, Steve (Thelma) Sigmon; step-daughters, Kim Sigmon and Denise (Bobby) Ford; 11 step-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; brother, Tom (Patty) Waters; sisters, Joyce (Gary) Miller and Judy Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 East Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43232 where funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11:00AM. Pastor Gwendolyn Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, Ohio.
