

Born November 13th, 1936, a Friday, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Son of Lewis Rouda and Gertrude Rouda (deceased) and the brother of Harley E. Rouda (deceased 6/28/12). Attended E.J. Brown Elementary School in Dayton, Ohio, Ralph Waldo Emerson Jr. High in Westwood, California, and graduated from Brookville High School in 1954. Attended The Ohio State University, and graduated from Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio. Jan played semi-professional baseball for the Phillipsburg Merchants from 1954-1958 in the Heart of Ohio Semi Pro League. He later played in several fast pitch softball leagues in the Brookville and Dayton, Ohio area as well as having played several times against Eddie Feigner of the King and his Court professional barnstorming softball team. During the mid 50's he played basketball for GHR Foundry in an industrial league in Dayton, Ohio. Jan moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1968 with his family and played softball until he retired in 1992. Jan worked for HER Realtors, his brother's company for 17 years. Jan was a well-respected builder in Upper Arlington, Columbus, Westerville, and Dublin as well as the building arm for many of HER's office buildings throughout and around the city of Columbus. Jan was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Janet. Jan is survived by his daughters Jodi Rouda Palmer, Jayne (Glatz) and husband Mike, and his son Jon. He is also survived by his Grandchildren: Darcey and husband Matt Wion, Emily and husband Tyler Treece, Cody Palmer and fiancé Adriane (Ghidotti), Madison Glatz, and Carson Glatz. Jan was also fortunate enough to meet his great grandsons, Bowen and Turner Treece who were born earlier this year.
