

Jan Ellen Singleton, age 67, of Grove City, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, after a short but courageous battle against breast cancer. Jan was born on July 12, 1953, in Columbus to William A. and the late Jean Marlyn England. Jan was a lifelong resident of Grove City and graduated from Grove City High School in 1970. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she was active in the handbell choir for many years. Jan was a kind, selfless spirit who always put others first. She was hard-working and a perfectionist in everything she did. Jan was a self-taught musician who could play several instruments, including the viola, piano, and flute. Above all else, she loved her family and her pets and lived life to the fullest. In addition to her mother, Jan is preceded in death by her sister Jeanne England. She is survived by her father, William England, children Aaron (Heather) Singleton, Andrea (Chad Crane) Singleton, and Sky Singleton; grandchildren Jacob and Katie Singleton; siblings Julie (Larry) Gaston, William J. England, Joy K. (Allan) Zinn, Robert England, Jenny (Bobby) Warner; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, June 5, 2021, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 3220 Columbus St. Grove City, where the family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service. Pastor Patti Morlock is officiating. In place of flowers, contributions may be made in Jan’s memory to Compassion that Compels and Metavivor.
