On behalf of The Dunes of Boca Association in Boca Grande, Florida please accept our sincere regrets at the passing of Jane Ann.  In addition to her friendly and giving demeanor Jane was always proactive in protecting the plantings and wildlife in and around the Dunes property.  We will truly miss her presence at The Dunes.  A donation will be made to one of Jane Ann's charities on behalf of the Association.

I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy.  May you find comfort from your memories, as well as the comfort found in God’s word the bible.  In particular the scripture found at Revelation 21:4 which says, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Jane Ann's generous spirit touched my family in so many ways.   I will always consider it an honor to have known her.  May God send peace to her beautiful family at this difficult time.

Jane Ann was a dear friend, who I will miss so much.  Even though I loved nature when I met her, she taught me a whole new appreciation for nature.  She taught me the names of the sea shells we gathered, the birds on the seashore, the names of the wild flowers and the trees when we went hiking together on Crane Hollow.......   She tried to teach me bird calls, but I will admit that was somewhat of a lost cause.  Not totally, however, because now when I am outdoors, I am in awe of the amazing concert put on by the birds.  I am so grateful for my time with Jane Ann.  She was a wonderfully talented, spirited, feisty woman who I adored.

Jane Ann shared her love of nature with everyone.  She will be in my heart, every time I am outdoors

Crane Hollow has always been a very reverential place.  Jane Ann's life and spirit has made it even more so.  She will live on in our memories and hearts and in the Hollow where she is now a permanent caretaker.

Such a loss, but such a legacy left behind. I met Jane Ann on the "conservation circuit" first through AOA and Rural Action events, and continued to enjoy my time with her while visiting Crane Hollow as part of the OCVN program. She was, as others have said before, a feisty, bright, determined woman. It has been wonderful knowing her over the past few years. I didn't know her long, but she left quite an impression.

We were neighbors, we were friends, we were hiking buddies, we were passionate conservationists, especially through AOA (Appalachia Ohio Alliance), we were giddy and serious and I shall miss her very much, but not so much as the whole county, indeed the whole state will. Yes, she was small in stature, but oh! such a giant in courage and feistiness and astuteness and determination, with incredible accomplishments for the natural world as a result.

I only met Jane more than a year ago thru our classes with Ohio State Extension and Crane Hollow thru OCVN Classes I took 1 1/2 years ago- she was small and formidable-What a gal- she lived with passion and conviction and contributed so much to the betterment of all of our lives and provided opportunities for all of us to share knowledge and appreciation for nature!!!

She will be sorely missed!!!!

When I think of Jane Ann, I will always remember this small but mighty woman who has left our county and students of environmental education, present and future, an amazing opportunity. Her spirit was always positive and motivational.  She not only touched those with the gift of Crane Hollow, but with her example of friendship and kindness to the many folks of Hocking County she encountered through Lilyfest, Bishop Educational Gardens, Hocking SWCD, Camp Oty' Okwa, just to name a few.  Nature and people alike have been blessed to be touched by her. Thoughts and prayers of peace for Jane Ann's family.
