

Jane Baxter Genton, age 61, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on October 8, 2011, just three hours after celebrating her 39th wedding anniversary. Jane was born November 23, 1949 in Potsdam, NY to the late George Augustus Baxter and Geraldine May Benton Baxter. She graduated from Potsdam High School and received training as a licensed beautician. Jane was a faithful member of Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church and worked as an elementary educational aide with the City of Whitehall School District for 23 years. She was an inspiration to many people through her infectious smile and her energy as a Special Olympics volunteer, part-time Weight Watchers employee, member of the Gahanna Curves morning group, a 28 year breast cancer survivor, and most importantly, an adoring wife and caring mother. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob Genton; son, Nathan “Nate” Baxter Genton; brothers and sisters, Veronica Bisnett, Nancy (Ray) Stoneburner, Harold “Gus” (Peggy) Baxter and Felicitas “Phil” Baxter; sister-in-law, Barbara Whiteford Genton; many nieces and nephews and good friends. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved son, Nicholas “Nick” Robert Genton and her sister, Genevieve Baxter. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.), Gahanna, OH 43230, with a Rosary Service beginning at 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, October 12, at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church, 6300 E. Dublin Granville Rd., New Albany, OH 43054; Fr. Jerome Rodenfels, Celebrant; interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Pataskala, Ohio.
